The way of the samurai is a long path. It is a balance of peace and violence. Sometimes it is deadly. If a samuria failed to complete his goal with his long sword, he'd use his short sword on himself. It was the only option to save his honor. Also if the shogun or emperor would sometimes ask samurai to commit suicide and the samuai wouldn't hesitate. One of the peaceful ways of the samurai was to write poems and draw paintings of nature. That is the way of the samurai.
